World, At This Moment

此刻曾经存在 is a playable digital history exhibition about simultaneity: while one event becomes history, ordinary life elsewhere continues.

Real production build · keyboard, pointer and touch input · external experience loads only after activation.

Result

A bilingual Next.js exhibition with a staged 1969 journey, an interactive Three.js globe, time navigation, place stories, life-scale comparisons, artefact traces, and a transmission sequence comparing how news travelled across eras.

Problem

Historical timelines flatten the world into one headline after another. This project asks a different question: at the moment an event became famous, what was happening elsewhere, and who had not heard yet?

Role

Independent concept, interaction design, bilingual content model, Three.js scene work, React interface, motion system, and source records.

Decisions

The 1969 pilot leads with a complete experience instead of an encyclopaedic catalogue. Scroll, keyboard, pointer, and touch input drive the same stage machine; the explore view separates year, place, story, and source without turning the work into a search database.

Evidence

The public experience is available at world-at-this-moment.com. Production build passed at commit 4d5d613; the deployed home page returned successfully on 16 September 2026, and the local home route plus an English 1969 explore deep link also passed. The code includes touch gestures, Escape-to-skip, bilingual overlays, reduced-motion handling, and an in-project source index.

Limits

Public prototype rather than a finished historical reference. The embedded build proves the current product surface, but this case only treats the 1969 path as the verified pilot; chronology, complete source coverage, mobile interaction, and performance still need recorded end-to-end review.
