食衡 Shiheng

A bilingual food log for multicultural Australian meals. Search, portion, meal, today. Local-first. Not a clinic.

Concept board — not a live screenshot of the current build.

Result

Expo / React Native / TypeScript prototype with bilingual search, portion and meal logging, source-tagged nutrients, backup and CSV export, plus 7- and 30-day summaries. Public repository.

Problem

English-only food logs miss the dishes people actually eat in Adelaide. A useful log has to handle mixed meals without pretending to be a clinician.

Role

Independent product. Design, mobile client, catalog import, and the non-medical boundary.

Decisions

Native food-catalog search uses SQLite and FTS behind a repository boundary. Personal logs and app state use AsyncStorage with versioned migration and restore; the web build uses a platform-specific in-memory provider. These stores are described separately rather than calling all data “SQLite”.

Data & quality

Import scripts normalise source-tagged food records for catalogue use, while checks cover source identity, catalogue consistency, nutrition calculations, persistence, backup, and trends. The next evidence step is a reproducible quality report for missing values, units, anomalies, and duplicate candidates; this page does not present that planned report as complete.

Evidence

Public GitHub repository, source-aware import scripts, domain and catalogue checks, backup round trips, and a closed-trial Android package in the project tree. This page does not publish a completion percentage or treat catalogue size as user scale.

Limits

Android-first prototype. The board above is a design artefact, not a running-app capture. iPhone testing and live OTA delivery are not claimed; nutritional output is informational and not medical advice.
